Sense of Wonder
Use Music to Explore Nature and Early Childhood Science Concepts
Participants learn fun, easy-to-sing songs that teach early childhood science concepts and foster children's innate love of animals and the natural world. Discover ways to encourage children’s curiosity, and "sense of wonder” with songs that engage through physical movement, such as sign language, meaningful gestures and dance. Acquire methods to use children's books to create engaging, memorable musical activities that enhance the presentation of stories and promote literacy skills. All concepts covered align with NAEYC and Common Core Early Learning Standards.

Rhythm, Rhyme, and Repetition:
The Three R's of Black Storytelling in the Early Childhood Classroom
Black Storytelling is an engaging and dynamic art form rooted in the African tradition of transmitting culture, history, and wisdom through the oral telling of tales. As a result, this storytelling model creates a safe environment where learning is organic and entertaining, where the ensemble still allows for solo flare, plus literacy is developed through vocal, physical, and mental participation. When combined with books, Black Storytelling transmits culture and educates the whole child seamlessly and artfully.
